Attachment protection account

P-account

By setting up a garnishment protection account, you can protect the basic allowance of currently €1,340 as well as other payments received on your current account, such as child benefit, from garnishment. To get a P-account above the basic allowance of currently €1,340.00, you can simply go to your bank and apply for one. However, if you would like to claim higher allowances for dependants such as spouses and/or children or for child benefit, care allowance or certain social benefits, you will need the so-called P-account certificate.
You can get these from us. You can find further information on payments that can be additionally protected from seizure on the P-account here.
